As an alternative to the above hotel, you can consider the Hotel Jason, which is located right on the Volos waterfront. We stayed there in August of 2009 for one night and found the accommodations to be basic, but comfortable and clean. If you do choose to book a night there, I recommend that you request a room towards the back of the hotel since it can get quite noisy at night if your room is near the front of the place.
